Supplies Needed

  • Flowers and leaves
  • Thick books (like phonebooks or encyclopedias)
  • Wax paper
  • Cardstock or sturdy paper
  • String or ribbon
  • Hole punch

Instructions

  1. Gather a variety of colorful flowers and leaves.
  2. Gently remove any excess dirt or debris from the flowers and leaves.
  3. Place a sheet of wax paper on a page in a thick book. Lay your flowers and leaves on the wax paper, ensuring they are flat and not overlapping.
  4. Place another sheet of wax paper on top of the flowers.
  5. Close the book tightly, making sure the flowers are pressed firmly between the pages.
  6. Allow the flowers to dry completely, once the flowers are dry, carefully remove them from the book.
  7. Cut out shapes from cardstock or sturdy paper, such as circles, squares, or leaves.
  8. Attach the pressed flowers to the cardstock shapes using glue or tape.
  9. Punch holes in the top of each shape.
  10. Thread string or ribbon through the holes. Collect two sticks from outside and tie them together to create a mobile. Tie your flowers to the mobile.
  11. Hang your flower press mobile!
