The Fun Behind It

Corn, also known as maize, is one of the oldest crops cultivated by humans and plays a big role in the harvest season, especially in North America. With its vibrant colors and use in a variety of harvest festivals, corn is a symbol of abundance and prosperity. This simple and creative craft lets children make their own “corn” while learning about the colors of different types of corn and the importance of corn in harvest celebrations. Using pipe cleaners to form the corn and husk helps kids develop fine motor skills as they twist, thread, and shape the materials.
